Priority of Services for Veterans
The Workforce Assistance Center provides job placement, education, training and other services to eligible military veterans and spouses. We have a wide variety of resources targeted specifically for the Veteran community. We make every effort to connect Veterans with the services that best fit their needs. Our office assists veterans and their spouses to obtain benefits from the federal, state and local agencies administering programs for veterans, and provides advocacy and outreach to the veteran community, while promoting and facilitating access to needed services.
If you are unsure of where to find help, need assistance to get started, or just want to learn more about the services available, you can obtain assistance by calling our office. Our Career Specialist staff member will assist you or direct you to the appropriate resources.
The Resource Room located at the Workforce Assistance Center has many services to help with a job search, including computers, fax machine, copier, phones, and daily job announcements from various employers. Individuals can also apply for Unemployment Insurance Benefits via phone or on-line. We have staff available in the Resource Room for customer assistance, whether a customer needs help with creating a resume, typing test certification, or navigating through the job websites. CalJOBS (the California labor exchange system) is also a good source to use when job searching. CalJOBS allows job seekers to create resumes that can be seen by employers, search the full service employment center for job openings, and much more. It also allows employers to post job openings, browse through resumes and find qualified candidates.
