California Homeless Hiring Tax Credit

The credit is offered to businesses who hire individuals experiencing homelessness. The credit is available for taxable years beginning January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2026. Employers may receive $2,500 to $10,000 in tax credit per eligible employee based on hours worked in the taxable year. Employers may claim up to $30,000 of credit per taxable year.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)

Eligible businesses who hire a new employee from a group may apply for WOTC. Businesses can claim tax credits, up to a maximum of $9,600 per eligible employee, depending on the eligibility of the person hired and the number of hours worked  in the new position. Fidelity Bonding

The Employment Development Department (EDD) Fidelity Bonding Program provides bonding services to help alleviate employers’ concerns in hiring ex-offenders and at-risk job applicants. This is accomplished through providing a level of insurance for employers against possible theft and dishonest or fraudulent acts. The California Competes tax credit is an income tax credit for businesses that are expanding or relocating to California. The credit is available to any individual business and is based on a set of criteria including the number of jobs created, opportunity for future growth, and much more. Manufacturing and Research & Development Equipment Extension

California is home to many innovative businesses and organizations that create jobs and contribute positively to the state’s economy. A partial sales and use tax exemption allows certain manufacturers, researchers and developers to pay a lower sales or use tax rate on qualifying equipment purchases and leases. For more information, please click here.
