Expanded Subsidized Employment (ESE)
A subsidized employment program administered by the Department of Social Services (DSS) that reimburse businesses for the wages of newly-hired employees from DSS at varying levels during the first 6 months of employment. Once our DSS signs a completed application with interested employees, after a successful applicant match, the wage subsidy program can.
Reimbursement of employee wages paid to eligible and approved employers are as described below:
- 100% of wages paid for 1st & 2nd month
- 50% of wages paid for the 3rd & 4th month
- 25% of wages paid for the 5th & 6th month

Transactional Job Training (TJT)
TJT allows job seekers to increase their experience, skills and work references to improve their employability following the successful completion of the TJT. Supported by effective case-management, the TJT program helps businesses reduce turnover costs and hire screened candidates that have soft skills training and are job ready.
Paid Work Experience (PWEX)
The PWEX program is a temporary work placement activity for out of school young adults, ages 18-24 years of age. Placement can be at a public, private or non-profit organization.

A structured Paid Work experience provides businesses with individuals who are ready and willing to work in their chosen career field. It also provides a pool of candidates from which to fill future positions and may reduce recruitment costs.
Individuals in the PWEX program are held to the same expectations as all employees. The business conducts bi-monthly evaluations on workplace expectations and performance.
